Suspect in custody after Layton credit union robbery

LAYTON, Utah, Nov. 18, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — The Layton Police Department has arrested a suspect in the case of a Nov. 10 credit union robbery.

The department thanked the public for its help in the case in a Facebook post:

“Early this morning, Layton PD detectives arrested 20 year-old Sonny West on Hill Air Force Base for the aggravated robbery at Washington Federal Credit Union back on November 10.

“He was identified as a suspect, located at his dorm, and taken into custody peacefully. He was questioned and evidence was collected, and he was booked into the Davis County Jail. We really appreciate the help from the public on this case.”

In an LCPD Twitter post the same day as the robbery, police asked for help identifying the man caught on surveillance at 3:25 p.m. Nov. 10 while robbing the Washington Federal Credit Union, 1840 N. Hill Field Road.
