SANDY, Utah, Sept. 24, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The interchange at 10600 South and Interstate 15 reopened Saturday, two days ahead of schedule, the Utah Department of Transportation announced in a Facebook post.

The I-15 interchange at 10600 South was scheduled to be closed from Sept. 8, through Monday. The 10600 South roadway was closed in both directions over I-15, and nearly all of the on- and off-ramps at the interchange were closed as well.

During this closure, crews worked to slide a new underpass into place. It will connect the northbound I-15 off-ramp with Monroe Street, west of The Shops at South Town mall.

Crews will continue working on the underpass, which UDOT said should make driving in the area easier. It will open next year.
