OGDEN, Utah, Oct. 28, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — An Ogden man who pleaded guilty to reduced charges of one count of sodomy on a child has been sentenced to 15 years to life in Utah State Prison.

Preston Brock Long, 28, was originally charged with three counts of sodomy of a child and one count of aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

According to the probable cause statement, the victim described being sodomized on multiple occasions, and evidence was found in the victim’s bedroom.

Long had prior convictions, and was a registered sex offender.

The mother of the victim, a boy younger than 9, wrote a letter asking for a lesser sentence for Long, but the Ogden 2nd District Court judge went with the prosecutor’s recommendation.
