Salt Lake Police seek suspects who smashed woman’s car window, robbed her at knifepoint

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 17, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are looking for two suspects after an early morning aggravated robbery in Salt Lake City.

The incident occurred in the area of 710 N. Riverside Dr. (1600 West) just before 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

A woman was driving and stopped for a vehicle that was making a U-turn, the news release said. As the vehicle was completing the U-turn, it swerved and ran into the front of the victim’s car. Two occupants then exited the vehicle and shattered the driver’s side window of the victim’s vehicle. It is not known what was used to break the window.

The first suspect held a knife to the victim’s throat while the second suspect took her purse from the front seat. The suspects then drove away. The victim was not injured in the incident, police said.

The first suspect is described as a black man, approximately 20 years old with a slim build, wearing a black beanie cap. The second suspect is described as a male adult, but there is no further description. The suspect vehicle is a newer model black four-door truck with a lift.
