TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, June 23, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A 31-year-old man is in extremely critical condition after a collision between a motorcyclist and a vehicle Thursday afternoon in Taylorsville.

Unified Police Lt. Lex Bell said the accident happened at 3:10 p.m. on 5400 S. and 1300 West.

“Witnesses are saying the man riding the motorcycle was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic as he headed west on 5400 South,” Bell said. “An elderly female who was making a left-hand turn from the eastbound lanes didn’t see him and turned in front of him.”

The man was in extremely critical condition; his injuries are life-threatening. The woman was in serious but stable condition. Both were taken to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray.

Currently traffic headed west on 5400 South is being diverted south on 1300 West. The accident is expected to cause heavy delays for a a couple of hours.
