Shooting Leaves Salt Lake City Man In Critical Condition; Suspect Being Questioned

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, June 10, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A 26-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot in the head Thursday morning outside a home at 116 E. Williams Ave., Salt Lake City.

Investigators told Gephardt Daily the victim was shot around 7:40 a.m. by a 45-year-old resident of the home. The suspect is being questioned at police headquarters.

According to Det. Dennis McGowan, Salt Lake City Police, the shooting took place near the driveway of the home.

The reason being behind the shooting is currently unknown.

At least two people, a man and woman, were inside the residence at the time of the shooting. They, too, are being questioned by police.

Investigators are screening the neighborhood to see if anyone witnessed the shooting.

Police say it’s unclear if the shooter and victim knew each other.
