SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Sept. 25, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are looking for information after receiving a call from a man who was driving a shooting victim to the hospital early Sunday morning.

The call came after officers had been summoned to an apartment found to have been targeted by one or more shooters.

Salt Lake City Police Department Lt. Michael Ross said a shots-fired call came in at 12:45 a.m. from an apartment building at 1630 N. Ivy Circle.

When police arrived, Ross said, they found an apartment had been hit several times and there were shell casings right outside, but nobody was there.

At about the same time, a call came in to the SLCPD from a man who was driving a shooting victim to the hospital, and said the victim had been shot in the Ivy Circle area. The shooting victim had minor injuries.

Officers went to Salt Lake Regional Medical Center and interviewed both the victim and the man who had driven him to the hospital. Detectives also interviewed witnesses at the scene of the shooting.

Ross said nobody has been taken into custody as of Sunday morning.
