South Jordan police warn residents after attempted abduction of 11-year-old girl

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah, May 17, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — South Jordan police are searching for a suspect after the attempted abduction of an 11-year-old girl Wednesday afternoon.

The incident took place in the area of 4900 W. South Jordan Pkwy. (10400 South) when a suspect tried to grab the girl at approximately 4 p.m. She was able to escape and run home, South Jordan Police said in a Facebook news statement.

“We want you to know that we are currently investigating that and will have an increased presence in the area,” the post says.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, between 20-30 years old, wearing a black hoodie with white draw strings, and dark colored blue jeans.

Anyone who has information about the suspect or saw anything Wednesday night related to this incident is asked to call the SJPD at 801-840-4000.
