SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah, Dec. 1, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) ─ A pipeline spill in Summit County leaked thousands of gallons of fuel at an industrial plant on Monday night.

According to North Summit Fire District spokesperson Tyler Rowser, officials were called to 3303 Chalk Creek Road in Coalville at about 7 p.m. after the company noticed the level changes in their systems.

Citation Oil & Gas officials said they shut down the pipeline after confirming that about 200 barrels of gasoline, butane and propane had been or were leaking.

Rowser said the two homes located in the area are outside of the containment zone and are not in any imminent danger.

Strong odors and fumes forced officials to close Chalk Creek road overnight. The road remains closed as of Tuesday as crews continue with clean-up efforts.

Rowser confirmed environmental crews and Envirocare are back on scene this morning and the incident investigation will resume once the fuel levels are no longer dangerous.
