Suspect arrested in Magna stabbing death

MAGNA, Utah, September 8, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The Unified Police Department has released a statement announcing the death of a man stabbed late Friday morning in the parking lot of a Magna Shell station.

Police told Gephardt Daily they were called to 7210 West 3500 South about 11:52 a.m. When they arrived they found Eugene Rowland, 29 suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Rowland was rushed by ambulance to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, but died Friday afternoon.

After screening numerous witnesses, detectives from UPD arrested a prime suspect – Jose Hernandez, 44 – at his West Valley City home. 

Hernandez was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on one count of first degree felony murder.  

Detectives have yet to deter

mine a motive in Rowland’s stabbing, but say both men knew each other and had quarreled in the past.  

The police investigation is ongoing.

  1. Scared? Why should he be scared? The only reason why he is scared is because these people terrorized and threaten his family. Police never did a thing.
