SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 27, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City Police chased a suspect on Saturday who is believed to have been shooting a weapon near a TRAX stop in Salt Lake City.

Police arrived at the scene at about 12:30 a.m., and saw a black car leaving the scene.

Police chased the vehicle briefly, and later found it crashed at 1050 S. Concord St. The driver had fled.

No one was hurt in the incident. A car was found with a bullet hole, but it was not immediately clear if the hole was new, a SLCPD spokesman told Gephardt Daily.

Police have found a handgun inside the abandoned vehicle. They impounded the car, and plan to talk to its registered owner and to ask who had possession of the car at the time in question.
