SOUTH OGDEN, Utah, Aug. 22, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A cement truck tipped over Tuesday afternoon in South Ogden, leaving 18 wheels exposed and a partial load of concrete in need of shoveling up off the asphalt roadway.

The single-vehicle accident happened at about 12:50 p.m. when the cement truck, northbound on Washington Boulevard at about 5600 South, drove into a sloped roadside gutter and tipped over.

Heavy equipment was brought in to lift the truck back onto its wheels, and then was repositioned to lift the cement drum onto a flatbed truck for transport.

Officers are still investigating exactly what happened to cause the accident, Officer Randy Thomson, South Ogden Police Department, told Gephardt Daily.

Northbound traffic was restricted to the median for several hours during the cleanup and clearing of debris.
