This live drama is written and directed by Taylorsville Arts Council vice-chair Susan Holman. Guests are led by guides through the cemetery to six grave sites featuring costumed local actors portraying a cross-section of the community’s pioneers and settlers, performing a dramatic skit and telling their stories. The settlers who the actors are portraying are the real deal: they lived and died in our community, raised their families and left legacies.

The Taylorsville Cemetery will be lit up with kerosene lamps at each grave site and hundreds of luminaries marking the pathways throughout the tour.

Some of the actors and storytellers participating in the production are direct descendants of those being portrayed.

This event is hosted just once every six years by the dedicated Taylorsville Arts Council and Historic Preservation Committee members.

This event is free and geared toward families with children ages five and up.

Guests should park in the Eisenhower Junior High School parking lot, 4351 South Redwood Road. A tractor drawn wagon will transport them to and from the cemetery gates two blocks away.
