SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 29, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A TRAX train and a pickup truck were involved in a collision Monday afternoon in Salt Lake City that forced a temporary closure of the tracks in both directions.

Utah Transit Authority spokesman Remi Barron said the crash happened at 1300 W. North Temple at approximately 12:45 p.m. when a truck made an illegal turn in the front of the train.

Nobody was injured in the crash, Barron said. The TRAX train was traveling at the speed limit, which is approximately 30-35 mph in that area.

Barron said the incident, which happened just west of Fairpark Station on the Green line, had temporarily closed the tracks in both directions, and passengers were being asked to cross a walking bridge and board another train so they could continue their journey.

The crash was cleared by 1:25 p.m. and Barron said residual Green Line delays of 10 to 15 minutes should be expected.
