DRAPER, Utah, June 15, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Highway Patrol is crediting the use of seat belts with saving lives and preventing serious injuries in a three-vehicle accident that happened Thursday morning in Draper.

A 75-year-old woman was southbound on Interstate 15 near 14200 South when her Nissan Altima drifted to the left, and got stuck on the front wheel of a semi. When the car came loose, it slid in front of the semi, then slammed into a Toyota SUV.

The impact caused the SUV to roll several times.

The 75-year-old Nissan driver was transported to a local hospital with face and frontal lacerations and chest pain.

Those in the SUV and semi were uninjured, the Utah Highway Patrol news release said, adding, “All occupants in these vehicles were wearing their seat belts and so they will all go home to their families tonight.”
