KEARNS, UTAH – July 28, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Police investigators believe the search for a stolen car has led to an alleged chop-shop at a private residence in Kearns.
According to Lt. Bill Robinson, Unified Police received a ‘call for assistance’ from West Jordan Police as they searched for a stolen vehicle.
Officers ultimately tracked the car to a home located at 101 S. 5135 West by pinging a cell phone which was inside the vehicle when it was stolen.
Upon searching the premises, police say they found a second stolen vehicle which was being stripped for parts.
Police were questioning a number of people who were at the home when officers arrived. So far, there have been no arrests.
Detectives believe the alleged chop-shop could be part of a larger operation.
