MIDVALE, Utah, July 23, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Unified Police are looking for two suspects in a dark-colored sedan who pointed a gun at an officer before fleeing at speeds up to to 110 mph.

Unified Police Detective Jared Richardson told Gephardt Daily the incident began at approximately 3 a.m. when a vehicle with two men passed by an officer in the area of 475 W. 2nd Ave. in Midvale. The passenger in the vehicle then pointed a gun at the officer.

The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop but the driver fled northbound on I-15 from Midvale then continued onto I-215 westbound. As speeds reached up to 110 mph and possibly faster, Richardson said, the officer terminated the pursuit at I-215 and Redwood Road.

The vehicle is described as a dark-colored, possibly charcoal, a full-size sedan, which could be a BMW. Richardson said officers are working to confirm a licence plate. As yet, there is no description of the suspects.

Richardson added the suspects are likely to be facing charges including aggravated assault on a police officer.

UPD detectives are asking anyone with information on the outstanding suspects to call 801-743-7000.
