Update: Shooter of Magna Wendy’s remains at large; juvenile suspects questioned, released

MAGNA, Utah, Nov. 8, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Two male juveniles who were detained after multiple shots were fired at a Wendy’s restaurant in Magna have been questioned and released.

No one was hurt in the shooting, which took place at about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to Lt. Brian Lohrke, Unified Police Department. The gunfire did result in significant property damage, he said.

Lakeridge and Pleasant Green Elementary schools briefly were put into lockout, but students were released shortly afterward.

Police responded to the scene, at 3490 S. 8000 West. Police asked the public to keep a lookout for a car believed to be used by the shooter.

The gold Mazda 6i was spotted shortly afterward, and the two suspects were questioned. Police indicated with a tweet posted just before 8 p.m. that it appears the juveniles were not involved in the incident.
