DAVIS COUNTY, Utah, June 13, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials have identified a 61-year-old West Valley City man who died after a UTV rollover Tuesday night at Francis Peak in Farmington Canyon.

The deceased is Kevon Olsen, according to Detective Ty Berger, of the Davis County Sheriff’s Office.

Olsen was out with his family when the UTV he was riding rolled about 200 yards down a cliff, Berger told Gephardt Daily Tuesday night.

He added that the area in which the man was riding was “beyond the capabilities of the side-by-side.”

Davis County Sheriff’s Office and Search and Rescue, along with Farmington Fire and LifeFlight paramedics responded, but Olsen was declared deceased at the scene.

Berger said no drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident. It wasn’t known if the man had previous experience riding in the canyon, or if the fading light — the accident happened at 8:30 p.m. — had anything to do with it.
