TOOELE COUNTY, Utah, May 28, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials have identified  a 23-year-old woman who died Saturday night after the driver of the car she was riding in swerved to avoid hitting an animal on state Route 73 in Tooele County.

Tooele County Sheriff’s Office officials identified the deceased as Bainey Padilla Munibe of Park City.

The crash happened at about 10 p.m. when four people in their 20s were traveling together in a vehicle on SR-73, heading home from a camping trip, according to Tooele County Sheriff’s officials.

An animal ran in front of the car, officials said, and the driver swerved to avoid hitting it, overcorrected, and the vehicle rolled.

The victim, who was the only one not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the back seat of the vehicle and died at the scene. The other three people in the car suffered only minor injuries, officials said.

Officials do not believe at this time there were other contributing factors to the crash, such as impairment.
