PROVO, Utah, May 21, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have identified a 25-year-old man who died after his motorcycle hit a passenger car in Provo on Saturday morning.

The deceased is Spencer Johnston, Provo Police officials said Tuesday.

The accident happened at 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of 900 East and 820 North, Provo Police Sgt. Nischa King, told Gephardt Daily.

“The motorcyclist was traveling northbound on 900 East,” said King. “It hit a four-door, silver passenger car traveling west. The motorcyclist struck the driver’s side of the vehicle.”

Investigators have not yet said who was at fault.

Johnston, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

The two people in the car were treated at the scene for minor cuts caused by glass from the broken window.

The roadway was closed for about 90 minutes before it could be reopened to traffic, King said.
