SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah, May 15, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have identified a 29-year-old mom of three who died after a two-car accident in the early hours of Mother’s Day in Saratoga Springs.

Saratoga Springs Police Department said Tuesday the victim was Jacqueline Penaloza.

The accident happened at about 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Redwood Road and Pioneer Crossing, according to information from the SSPD.

Nine people were traveling in the two vehicles, and five people were treated for injuries.

A GoFundMe page, which says it was set up by a family friend to assist with funeral expense and hospital bills, said Penaloza’s three children, who were in the car, are still in the hospital.

The GoFundMe page says: “Jacquie Penaloza was a 29-year-old female, mother of three beautiful children, who passed away when her car got hit. She did not make it to the hospital and her three children are in the hospital as of now. We are trying to raise money for all funeral expenses as well as medical bills her husband is going to be left behind with. Her family would greatly appreciate any type of donations in this time of need.” As of Tuesday afternoon the page had raised $4,729 of a $20,000 goal.

Penaloza’s last post on Facebook was Thursday afternoon, when she wrote about being a mother. The post says: “Ser Madre significa que tu corazón ya no es tuyo, si no que deambula donde quiera que tus hijos estén,” which translates as: “Being a mother means that your heart is no longer yours, if not roaming wherever your children are.”

Saratoga Springs police said the crash is still under investigation.
