USU Police officer struck by car while directing traffic

LOGAN, Utah, June 21, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A Utah State University police officer was hit by a car near campus on Thursday afternoon.

The USU officer was directing traffic around an earlier crash — near 1200 East and 400 North, on U.S. 89 — at about 1 p.m. when he was struck.

According to information from the Logan Police Department, the officer was conscious and breathing at the scene.

Officials said he was taken to Logan Regional Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition. He was released from the hospital later Thursday afternoon.
