Man dead after motorcycle-SUV collision in Ogden

OGDEN, Utah, March 7, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 20-year-old man died Wednesday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with an SUV in Ogden.

The accident happened at 4:12 p.m. at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Canfield Drive (1225 North).

Preliminary information released by the Ogden Police Department indicates the motorcycle was northbound on Washington Boulevard and the SUV was traveling west, turning from Canfield onto Washington Boulevard. The SUV, driven by a 73-year-old Ogden man, struck the motorcycle.

The SUV driver was not injured. The motorcyclist, who had been wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of family members. Ogden police say he was a West Haven resident.

The investigation is ongoing. No citations have been issued at this time, the OPD news release said.
