West Jordan, March 19, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) –

Just after 8 a.m. this morning West Jordan Police and Fire were called to 9288 Hawley Park Dr. to investigate reports of a downed power line.

A witness said that a semi truck came through the street, took out a main guy wire that supports the power pole and it caused the connecting lines to snap and the adjoining pole to bend.

Approximately 2,186 customers are without power in the zip codes 84081 and 84096. Dave Eskelsen, with Rocky Mountain Power said their main goal right now is to get the services restored. He is estimating the time of restoration  to be around 1 p.m. There is an area closed off at 5600 W. 9200 South.

We will post updates on Gephardt Daily when they become available.
