WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Feb. 19, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A police pursuit of a stolen car just before midnight ended with two suspects in custody early Sunday morning.

West Valley City Police Lt. Colleen Nolen said an officer checked the license plates on the vehicle and learned that it was stolen.

“He set up a plan to apprehend the suspects, and spikes were deployed successfully,” Nolen said. “The pursuit was short and low-speed.”

In the course of the chase, which began in the area of Redwood Road and 3100 South and ended near 3200 South and 2050 West, the suspects threw several items out of the car’s window at various locations.

Nolen said police suspect they were tossing drugs and other evidence out of the car, adding, “We’re doing our best to locate everything.”

Nolen said both suspects were taken into custody without incident, and both were already wanted for other crimes.
