SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 28, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — The entire Wasatch Front is under a winter storm warning that will be in effect until 11 p.m. Monday, and the National Weather Service is advising drivers to be especially cautious commuting to and from work.

The NWS in Salt Lake City is forecasting snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches along valley floors of the Wasatch Front, Cache Valley and the Heber and Park City areas.

Many of the bench areas along the Wasatch Front, including the Ogden Valley, are expected to see 6 to 12 inches of snow.

The NWS says periods of moderate to heavy snow will start early Monday morning and continue into the evening. Lake effect snow squalls in the evening could bring even more snow through western Salt Lake and northern Utah counties and the Tooele Valley.

In the higher elevations, 18 to 30 inches of snow is expected, with locally higher amounts along west-facing slopes, across northern Utah.

The NWS is reminding everyone that a winter storm warning means a significant accumulation of snow and very hazardous driving. They recommend keeping a winter survival kit in your car.
