WEST JORDAN, Utah, June 10, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for three suspects who allegedly robbed a teen inside a West Jordan residence in the early hours of Saturday morning, then fired shots before fleeing.

West Jordan Police Department officials said the incident occurred near 3700 W. Sumter Drive (6450 South) just before 4 a.m.

Officials said the three male suspects broke into a detached garage. At some point, they encountered a 16-year-old boy. It’s not clear whether the juvenile entered the garage or whether the suspects then broke into the adjacent home.

The suspects stole the juvenile’s wallet and personal effects, then struck him in the head with a gun.

As the suspects fled, they fired shots at the garage and the adjacent residence. No one was hit by the gunfire.

The teen was transported to an area hospital by family members for treatment of minor injuries.

At this time police do not have a description of the suspects.

Anyone who has information on the suspects or the incident is asked to call West Jordan Police at 801-840-4000.
