MURRAY, Utah, Dec. 26, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police say a woman riding a scooter hit a car in Murray on Tuesday and was critically injured.

Sgt. Marvin Barlow, Murray City Police Department, said the accident happened in late afternoon at the intersection of State Street and 5900 South.

“We had a car that was in the left-hand turn lane and a scooter that was going southbound on State Street,” Barlow said. “From what the witnesses say, all the lights were yellow, and the vehicle went to make the left-hand turn, and the scooter came through and hit the side of the vehicle.”

The woman, transported to a local hospital, was later upgraded to stable condition, Barlow told Gephardt Daily. He said he believed she had been wearing a helmet.

“We ask people to drive with caution whenever they are approaching an intersection,” he said.
