Woman dies after single-vehicle accident in Provo

PROVO, Utah, July 16, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 47-year-old woman is dead after a single-vehicle accident in Provo in the early hours of Monday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Rachel Anderson, the Provo Police Department said in a news release on Facebook.

Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of South State Street just before 4:45 a.m.

“For unknown reasons, the vehicle drove into the oncoming lane of traffic and struck a power pole,” the news release states.

Anderson was transported to the hospital, where she passed away.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
