Exclusive: Where Will We Go When The Earth is No Longer Habitable?

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – April 09, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Our population is destroying the earth and we are going to have to move, according to astrophysicist Stephen Hawking. But when? Oh, in about 200 years or less.

Physics Professor John Sohl from Weber State University told Gephardt Daily that we are going to have to live either in a space station, or on a new planet.

Looking at the statistics, we would not be able to make a space station that will hold everyone and the children they will be having. The planets in our solar system are a no go as well because none of them are inhabitable. So that leaves finding a new planet which is not in our solar system.

As it turns out, our best space craft as far as distance is concerned were launched out into space back in the 1960’s and 70’s and those crafts are just barely out of our solar system. “They’re just getting to that spot now after 40 years,” stated Sohl.

SpaceDoes that mean we are doomed? Sohl does not think so. We do in fact have one more destination that we can take a look at and it is right in our backyard. We can take the time and terraform either Mars or Earth. Sohl says that it would be easier to fix our own planet rather than try to create a completely different one.

Can we fix our own planet before it is too late?

“I believe we can,” said Dr. Sohl. We have already shown that we have the political will and the populations will to fix  global problems. We have fixed problems such as the hole in the ozone layer.”

He added with problems such as climate change, air quality, fresh water and over population  we have a lot to work on. ” We are a ‘can do’ type of race of creatures,” Sohl said. “So as humans our ability to solve problems has a fabulous track record.”

Dr. Sohl, like Dr. Hawking, believes that we really should be working space ships that will get us out of here if we need to, but he thinks that the best solution is going to be trying to save the planet that we are living on now.
