Jan. 5 (UPI) — “The King’s Speech” actress Helena Bonham Carter is in talks to play the middle-age version of Princess Margaret in the next two seasons of “The Crown.”

Deadline.com reported the negotiations Friday.

The Hollywood Reporter also said the 51-year-old actress is close to a deal to replace 28-year-old Vanessa Kirby, who played the rebellious royal in the period drama’s first two seasons opposite 33-year-old Claire Foy’s Queen Elizabeth II.

Olivia Colman, 43, is to portray the monarch in Season 3.
