March 25 (UPI) — The Bellagio Resort and Casino in Las Vegas was locked down briefly and guests poured into the surrounding streets following reports of a burglary and possible active shooter.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the situation was under investigation on Saturday morning and denied reports of an active shooter at the scene.

“Currently investigating burglary at [Bellagio],” police said on Twitter. “Initial reports indicated there was an ‘active shooter’ which was false. NO injuries.”

Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Carlos Hank said a high-end watch store in the hotel was burglarized by armed suspects.

The Bellagio was placed on lockdown for about 30 minutes after the incident.

Police said emergency calls initially indicated an active shooter on the scene after witnesses heard gunshots, but Lt. Michael Rodriguez said all shots fired were isolated inside the store.

The suspects wore character masks during the incident, including a pig mask seen in photos from the scene posted on social media.

At least one person was taken into custody as of 2:15 a.m. local time, as police continued to search for suspects.
