March 9 (UPI) — Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan are expecting baby No. 2.

The 32-year-old Facebook founder announced Thursday that Chan is pregnant with another daughter.

“Priscilla and I are happy to share we’re expecting another baby girl!” Zuckerberg wrote on Facebook.

“After our difficult experience having Max, we weren’t sure what to expect or whether we’d be able to have another child. When Priscilla and I first found out she was pregnant again, our first hope was that the child would be healthy. My next hope was that it would be a girl,” he shared.

“I cannot think of a greater gift than having a sister and I’m so happy Max and our new child will have each other,” the entrepreneur, who has three sisters, said.

Zuckerberg and Chan married in 2012, and welcomed daughter Max in December 2015. The couple said during Chan’s first pregnancy that they had struggled to have a child for years.

“We’ve been trying to have a child for a couple of years and have had three miscarriages along the way,” the Facebook founder said in July 2015.

“It’s a lonely experience,” he admitted. “We hope that sharing our experience will give more people the same hope we felt and will help more people feel comfortable sharing their stories as well.”

Zuckerberg and Chan announced after Max’s birth that they will donate 99 percent of their Facebook shares to charity in the coming decades. The pair explained they felt “a great responsibility to leave the world a better place” for their daughter.
