NEW YORK, July 24 (UPI) — A contractor at New York’s LaGuardia Airport accidentally cut power lines in a terminal and parking areas, causing an electrical outage that has created hours-long delays for some arriving flights.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said Terminal C, which serves US Airways and Delta, and two parking lots have been affected by the outage, which began about 4:30 a.m. The outage is also affecting several jet bridges, passenger walkways from the terminal to airplanes.

Generators have been brought in to resume operations. Flightaware.com is reporting nearly three hour delays for inbound flights. Departing flights are also delayed.

No one has been injured.
