Russian ambassador to Turkey killed in art exhibition shooting

ANKARA, Turkey, Dec. 19 (UPI) — Andrei Karlov, Russian ambassador to Turkey, was killed on Monday after a shooting during an art exhibition in Ankara.

State-run RIA Novosti reported Russia’s Foreign Ministry confirmed Karlov died. Karlov was shot while he was making a speech, the Russian embassy told Hürriyet Daily News.

Three people were injured and taken to central Ankara’s Güven Hospital.
