See it here: Silent marchers speak volumes in Salt Lake City demonstration

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 3, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A small but determined group of Utahns made a powerful statement Saturday afternoon, and did so without uttering a word.

The Silent Parade — organized by University of Utah student Dani McLaughlin and inspired by the famous civil rights march of the same name, carried out in Harlem in 1917 — had a simple goal: to symbolize the plight of the millions of Americans who they believe will be rendered voiceless in a Donald Trump administration.

By marching in silence, the group hoped to counter the caterwaul generated both before and after one of the most divisive and contentious presidential races in American history.
