ENGLEWOOD, Co., March 16, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A prison fight left former Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle with a bloody nose, swollen face and scratches on his neck.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Fogle, 38, was jumped on Jan. 29 in the recreation yard at Englewood Prison, in Colorado. Fogle’s alleged attacker, 60-year-old Steven Nigg, is said to have pushed Fogle down and punched him in the face.

Nigg, 60, in prison for a weapons charge, sustained a small cut on his left hand from fight. He is now in solitary confinement as punishment, TMZ reported.

The news site said its reporters had talked to Nigg’s family, who said Nigg was upset about how many child sex predators were housed at the low-security facility.

Fogle, a father of two, rose to fame after he lost 200 pounds by eating Subway footlongs and was hired as the company’s pitchman.

In November of 2015, Fogle was sentenced to 15 years and 8 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to charges of child pornography and crossing state lines to pay for sex with minors. Fogle faced a maximum possible sentence of 50 years.

Fogle will be eligible for parole in 2029.
