Jan. 22 (UPI) — A police department in Wisconsin posted a tongue-in-cheek message on Facebook this week, sympathizing with meth users who may have been sold fake drugs, urging them to bring in batches they suspected were wrong to have them “tested.”
The post by the Sparta, Wis., police department is not the first sarcastic jibe on its Facebook page. Previous posts have been about people parking cars on their lawns and alternate-side parking.
Thursday’s post states drug dealers may be passing off crumbled rock salt as the drug methamphetamine, sympathizing with drug users who’ve been duped.
“We understand how frustrating it is buying something and finding out it’s not what you thought you purchased…like ordering a large T-shirt that turns out to be a size schmedium. If you have recently purchased meth that you feel may be rock salt, please feel free to bring it to the Sparta Police Department for testing. Tests can also be conducted on any meth pipes, needles, or other paraphernalia items you have. We can only imagine how horrible a salty meth pipe is,” the post states.
It concludes: “Don’t delay, come and see us!”
No word on whether any drug users have taken the bait.
