ST. GEORGE, Utah, April 21, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 45-year-old man has been booked into the Washington County Jail on drug charges.

On April 19, members of the Washington County Drug Task Force stopped a vehicle and positively identified James Bradley Hone, who was wanted by the WCDTF on drug distribution charges.

St. George Police Officer J. Watson deployed K-9 Emma, and “Emma indicated to the presence of narcotic odor coming from the vehicle,” the probable cause statement says.

“A search of the vehicle located a distributed amount of a white crystal substance suspected as being methamphetamine. The search also located a distributional amount of brown powder substance suspected as being heroin.”

Tests later confirmed the nature of the substances, which were found in a backpack that an officer saw Hone carry to the car. A gun was found in the vehicle’s glove compartment.

Hone was charged with:

  • Two counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, a second-degree felony
  • Purchase, transfer, possession or use of a firearm by a restricted person, a third-degree felony
  • Use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor
