CLEVELAND, Dec. 18 (UPI) — Last season it was a camera that handed out punishment to LeBron James as he fell off of the court and into the stands.

But a loose ball led to harsh consequences for a famous onlooker Thursday, as James got a little too close to the crowd.

During the Cleveland Cavaliers‘ 104-100 win against Oklahoma City, James fell onto Ellie Day, golfer Jason Day’s wife. The 6-foot-8, 250-pound world-class athlete, dove headfirst toward Day, before turning around and landing on her. Moments later, after being checked out by medical staff, Day was removed from the game on a stretcher.

Day was “suffering from concussion symptoms and resting comfortably,” Jason Day’s agent Bud Martin said in a statement.

“He was just doing his job. Go Cavs,” Ellie Day said, according to Martin.

James, who had 33 points, 11 assists, and nine rebounds in the victory, tweeted about the incident.

“Ellie Day I hope you’re doing okay! My apologies! Hope u guys come back to another game soon. Love LJ!”

ESPN radio personality Mike Golic said that Day should have done a better job keeping his wife safe.

“Jason what did you do,” Golic said on Mike & Mike. “How are you not protecting? You know that your wife is there. You know LeBron is coming. And you can figure it out…what’s going to happen.”
