Update: Man dead after milk tanker overturns in Logan Canyon identified

CACHE COUNTY, Utah, Sept. 14, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A man who died after a milk tanker overturned Wednesday afternoon in Logan Canyon has been identified.

The deceased is Bruce R. Giddings, 60, from Logan, according to information from the Utah Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at about 1:13 p.m. as the tanker was traveling north on U.S. 89, near milepost 478.5, between Ricks Spring and the Tony Grove turnoff.

The driver took a turn too fast, and ran off the road to the left. The tanker overturned on the shoulder, pinning the driver and crushing the cab.

Giddings, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
