SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, March 19, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — An altercation and stabbing in the area of City Creek sent one person to the hospital Monday night, and police have a suspect in custody.
Lt. Russ Amott, Salt Lake City Police Department, said there was a fight on the street at 150 S. State St.
“In the course of the fight, one individual was stabbed by the other,” Amott said. “The victim ran away across the street and called for help.”
The other person stayed at the scene when police arrived and was being questioned.
Amott said he had not been told that the victim’s injuries were life-threatening.
He then added, “Anytime you get stabbed, it’s going to be serious.”
Details were scarce as to what the fight was about and who started it.
Amott said police are hoping someone may have witnessed the incident and will contact police.
