GRAND JUNCTION, Colo., Oct. 30, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A suspect wanted in connection with the murder of a  Duchesne County man and the armed kidnapping of two Roosevelt residents Friday night has been apprehended in Colorado.

Grand Junction Police Department posted on Facebook Sunday afternoon that James Main, Jr., 34, has been safely taken into custody.

Main was transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure but is not believed to have any serious injuries.

Two people reported Main abducted them from their residence at gunpoint around 7 p.m. Friday and had them drive him to a residence in Roosevelt. At the second residence, a struggle reportedly ensued between the two victims and a third person who was at the home. Main reportedly fired a shot during the incident, then left in a stolen car.

The vehicle was later recovered in north Duchesne County, but Main had fled the scene.

Deputies say during the initial stages of the investigation, they discovered the body of a 56-year-old man at his home in western Duchesne County. Investigators say the death is being treated as a homicide, and they have reason to believe there is a connection between the abduction of the two victims by James Main and the killing of the 56-year-old man.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
