West Valley City toddler dead after vehicle backs over him

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Oct. 25, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A toddler died early Tuesday evening after a vehicle leaving a neighbor’s driveway backed over him.

West Valley City Police were called at about 5 p.m. to a residence near 2700 S. 2900 West. According to Twitter posts by WVCPD Roxeanne Vainuku, the boy, age 19 months, came home from the store with his mother. While she was taking groceries into the house, he released himself from safety restraints.

The toddler wandered into the street, and was struck by a vehicle backing out of a nearby driveway. The driver is cooperating with the investigation.

The child, identified as Grayson Gravin, was transported to Jordan Valley Medical Center in extremely critical condition. He died from his injuries.
