SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 17, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A Salt Lake City man accused in the death of his estranged restaurateur husband will get his bail hearing next month.

Craig Crawford, 47, is accused of aggravated murder and arson in the May 22 fire that killed John Williams, 72, who had filed for divorce from Crawford and sought a restraining order.

Crawford’s bail hearing is set for Sept. 8.

Williams owned Market Street Grill and other popular Utah restaurants, and was a philanthropist and an active supporter of LGBT causes.

Williams was trapped in his burning Capitol Hill home, and died of smoke inhalation. Neighbors reported seeing Crawford watering plants outside the house as his husband called for help.
