ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 17 (UPI) — The widow of the Pulse nightclub shooter “did knowingly aid and abet” her husband in support of the Islamic State, according to an indictment unsealed in Orlando on Tuesday.

Police arrested Noor Salman, who was married to Omar Mateen in 2011, early Monday morning at her family’s home outside San Francisco. Salman, 30, will be transferred from Northern California to the Middle District of Florida, the FBI said.

She’s the only person charged in the June 12 shooting that killed 49 people. Mateen also died in the shootout with police.

Salman allegedly knowingly helped her husband in his support of the Islamic State, a designated foreign terrorist organization by the United States, the court records on Thursday revealed.

She also is accused of misleading the FBI and investigators with the police department in Fort Pierce, Fla., where she and Mateen lived, according to the records.

“[Salman] did knowingly engage in misleading conduct … with the intent to hinder, delay and prevent the communication to federal law enforcement officers and judges of the United States of information relating to the commission and possible commission of a federal offense,” the indictment said.

She was indicted by a Middle District of Orlando grand jury on charges of aiding and abetting the attempted provision and provision of material support to a foreign terrorist organization, and obstruction of justice.

Salman has given conflicting accounts about her knowledge of Mateen’s intentions but Mateen reportedly texted his wife during the shooting.

Salman, who is of Palestinian origin, moved to the United States from Jordan in August 2006.
