MIDVALE, Utah, May 22, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Midvale restaurant Tuesday night.

Lt. Manfred Lassig, Unified Police Department, said the robbery took place at Chabaar Beyond Thai, 87 W. 7200 South, at about 6:45 p.m.

A male entered the business carrying a long gun wrapped in a jacket, Lassig told Gephardt Daily.

“He showed the clerk the gun, asked the clerk for money, got a little bit of cash, and fled eastbound,” Lassig said.

No one was injured during the incident.

After the suspect fled the restaurant, the employees called police and notified the owner of the business.

Lassig said the suspect was described as a shorter male, wearing a black hat, Levi’s and a dark-colored shirt.

The restaurant’s owner is providing officials with surveillance video to further their investigation.

Anyone who may have any information about this robbery is asked to call UPD at 801-743-7000.
