New ‘Santaquin Fire’ drawing resources from Dollar Ridge crews

DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah, July 18, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews from the Dollar Ridge Fire, which is now 85 percent contained, are helping to fight a new blaze that started Tuesday afternoon and is being called the Santaquin Fire.

The Payson Hotshots and several Helitack crews were already working on this fire, Utah Fire Info said on Facebook.

This new fire is approximately six miles north of the Strawberry Pinnacles turnoff on State Route 40. It was 30 acres at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Facebook post said.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
