OGDEN, Utah, May 30, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A man wanted in connection with an attempted murder was arrested Wednesday in Ogden.

The U.S. Marshal and the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team located 21-year-old Gilberto Ruiz in a small house on the east side of Ogden, according to a news release.

“After conducting call-outs and breaching the door, he eventually surrendered and was taken in to custody,” the statement said.

The attempted murder was gang-related, the statement said.

The warrant was filed in connection with an incident that occurred on or near April 27 of this year.

The VFAST statement initially described the case as a murder, but the victim did not die, so the charge is attempted murder.
